Albert Cyprys: Serving the Needs of Seniors

Albert Cyprys is a busy college student, though he is also a busy community service volunteer. Splitting his spare time between a local soup kitchen and a local Senior Center, he remains active and involved in efforts to improve people’s lives, and to play a role in strengthening the local community.

Albert Cyprys understands that local charitable organizations, such as those that provide support to the elderly, rely on the help of volunteers, and that more people are always needed and desired to ensure successful operation and function. Senior Center volunteers like Albert Cyprys work to maintain clean dining rooms, provide support to Senior social events and provide invaluable companionship to center residents.

Albert Cyprys knows that many members of the elderly population live on their own, and that it’s often the companionship of volunteers that are vital to their emotional health and well-being. He enjoys nothing more than having a conversation with one of the center’s residents, sharing stories with and learning from people that have accumulated a lifetime of wisdom and invaluable experience. Albert Cyprys does his best to ensure that no one feels left out or ignored during his time at the Center, and actively engages everyone he can in a game, activity or conversation.
Albert Cyprys has become an invaluable part of the Senior Center volunteer team, and continues to enjoy the time he spends with many of the Center’s rich and enduring personalities. He maintains a professional attitude and demeanor during his time at the Center.

Albert Cyprys: Exercise Caution on Your Skateboard

Albert Cyprys takes his skateboard everywhere, traversing the busy and hectic New York City streets, as well as the city’s five Burroughs, as a skateboard enthusiast. Though he enjoys skateboarding as a mode of travel through the city, he also understands the importance of maintaining a heightened level of alertness and focus on a skateboard, as well as to abide by the rules of skateboarding safety.

Skateboarding, as Albert Cyprys knows, is an easy and fast way to avoid the congestion and traffic of New York City, though he also knows the importance of taking every possible precaution in order to ensure both his own personal safety and the safety of others. Following the rules of the road is necessary to maintain good skateboarding safety, as well as to minimize the risks of injury during your Big Apple skateboarding adventure.

Albert Cyprys also has a strong appreciation of the need for skateboarding safety gear, particularly as you are making your way through an extreme amount of automobile, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. Such gear as a helmet, knee and elbow pads and long sleeve clothing help to keep the skateboarder protected from the possibility of injury, and demonstrate to others that you take city travel seriously.

Albert Cyprys also understands the need to know certain basic skateboarding techniques as you make your way through busy city life. It’s important, he says, to become intimately familiar with your equipment before taking on the hustle of city streets, no matter where you happen to be.

Albert Cyprys: Helping to Feed the Hungry

Community service has always been a passion of Albert Cyprys, who continues to donate his time to a local New York City soup kitchen. He is proud of being a part of the effort to feed the city’s hungry, and hopes to be active in the organization for many years to come.

As a soup kitchen volunteer, Albert Cyprys has served in a variety of functions. During the kitchen’s morning shift, Cyprys’s duties have included preparing meals, setting up and organizing the dining area for use, and providing a breakfast menu that included fruit, coffee and pastries to hungry patrons. During the kitchen’s afternoon shift, Albert Cyprys often partook in clearing off and cleaning tables, greeting guests, washing dishes and serving the afternoon meals. He has worked alongside many fellow volunteers who have helped to provide him the direction and guidance he needed to be a more successful volunteer.

Albert Cyprys believes the experience of working in a New York City soup kitchen has been an incredibly eye-opening experience, showing him just how prevalent poverty and hunger is throughout the Big Apple. Serving food to the hungry gave him a better and deeper appreciation for what many of the city’s residents go through on a daily basis, and showed him the importance of both the work he has done, as well as the people that commit their time to the cause.
Albert Cyprys makes time for volunteering whenever he can. Though he continues to be a busy college student, he always sets aside time in his weekly schedule to help those in need.

Albert Cyprys: Higher Education Has Many Advantages

As many of us know, higher education has many associated benefits, not only for a person’s career, but also for such things as a person’s happiness, well-being and lifestyle. Albert Cyprys, currently a student at Fairfield University, knows well the benefits of a college education, and is hopeful to be the recipient of its many advantages sometime in the near future.
Albert Cyprys choose to enter college based on what he believes are the primary, perhaps even most interesting, benefits of a university-level education. He lists several of these advantages below.

Salary Potential
According to a recent study, a person with a college-level education tends to earn a higher median salary than one with just a high school diploma. There tends to be a direct correlation, says Albert Cyprys, between a college education and higher earning potential.

Lower Stress
Another study, as Albert Cyprys knows, has shown a link between lower stress and college degrees. A person with a university degree tends to have not only a lower level of stress, but also lower blood pressure when compared to those without.

Healthier Lifestyle
Lower blood pressure and stress aren’t the only health benefits associated with a college education. Those with a college education, says Albert Cyprys, tend to be less likely to engage in unhealthy activities, such as smoking, and are more likely to engage in healthy physical activity and exercise.

Overall Career Satisfaction
Those with a college education tend to have higher levels of satisfaction when it comes to career.
